Flow Sorters

The AMREP Flow Facility houses two BD FACS Aria instruments (with up to 4-way sorting) and a BD Influx (with up to 6-way sorting). The Aria's have a 3 laser (488nm, 633nm & 405nm) 9 colour detection capability and AMREP Flow is the only facility to operate an ARIA sorter in a PC3 environment in Melbourne. The Influx has 4 lasers (488nm, 633nm, 405nm & 561nm) 15 simultaneous colour detection capability.

The FACS sorting instruments are available from 10am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday (Monash users please note this excludes Victorian Public Holidays). Operation outside these times may be possible by prior arrangement - please Contact Us for information.

BD Influx

The Influx is capable of sorting up to 6 cell populations simultaneously and can operate from a 70, 86 or 100 micron nozzle and, depending on cell type and sample preparation, is also able to sort up to 36 million cells per hour. Please contact our facility in order to discuss the optimum sorting conditions for your experiment. Control and sort sample preparations must be in polypropylene tubes. The Influx is capable of sorting into 50ml (for 2 way), 15ml (for 2 way), 5ml (for 2 or 4 way) and cell culture plates (6-well, 12-well, 24-well, 48-well and 96-well).

The Aria sorters operate from a 70 micron nozzle and, depending on cell type and sample preparation, are able to sort up to 36 million cells per hour. Please contact our facility in order to discuss the optimum sorting conditions for your experiment. Both sorters are capable of sorting into 15ml (for 2 way) 5ml (for 2 or 4 way) and cell culture plates (6-well, 12-well, 24-well, 48-well and 96-well).
